Questions about hypnosis and hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is our natural ability to tap into and engaging our vast unconscious resources while deeply relaxed, focused, and aware so that those resources, through suggestion, can create powerful, positive, and enduring changes.

Although there is not one specific feeling you’ll feel during our sessions, being in hypnosis is often described as feeling you’re in that state between being awake and being asleep. There may be times where you feel profound relaxation like you’re melting into the chair. In other moments, you might notice this kind of light and floating sensation like a balloon in the air or you’re in water.  Also, there may be other points where you’re feeling that you’re just sitting in a chair and I’m talking to you.

Hypnotherapy is used to treat a wide range of conditions, issues, and unwanted/unhealthy behaviors, such as:

  • Phobias
  • Fears
  • Improved Sports Performance
  • Sleep Disorders
  • Anxiety
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Cessation of Smoking
  • Eliminating Excess Fat

Because it works! By harnessing the power of your own subconscious mind, Hypnotherapy is quick and effective in resolving personal issues and improving your life. With hypnotherapy, you can effectively replace limiting behaviors with attitudes and actions that promote growth and success. Hypnotherapy helps you focus, direct and maximize your own inner power. It’s an amazingly effective, powerful, and relaxing drug-free choice for change.

I’ve had people snore while in hypnosis.  When that happens I will ask that they nod if they understand what I’m saying. I’ve never had anyone not respond when asked.  And remember, I’m not speaking to your conscious mind.  I’m talking and giving suggestions to your unconscious mind.

Although I don’t have exact figures, I would say I have a high success rate based on the initial reports from my clients.

The reason I don’t have specific numbers is because I have neither the time nor the resources to collect the kind of data that I would need to give you an honest and accurate figure.

To be able to give you a truly accurate snapshot of my efficacy with clients, I would need to follow my clients up over many years to calculate not just their initial success, but whether or not they have had ongoing success.

Clinical studies have indicated that hypnosis is effective for about 87% of any given population.

One measure of success is how committed you are to change. I you’re not that committed to change, your chances of success with any modality is not very high.
